Why Isn’t My Product Linking in Orion?

When a product in Epos Now doesn’t link to your Wix Store, it’s almost always caused by missing or mismatched data — not an error.

This guide explains exactly how linking works, why a product may not link automatically, and how you can fix it.


How Orion Links Your Products

Whenever a product is updated in Epos Now, Orion tries to match it to a Wix item using this order:

  1. Barcode (best match)

  2. SKU

If a match is found, Orion instantly links the product and begins automatic:

  • Stock Sync

  • Price Sync

  • Future real-time updates

If no match is found, the product remains unlinked — nothing breaks, it simply waits for a correct match.


Common Reasons a Product Won’t Link

Below are the most frequent causes, with easy fixes.


1. Missing Barcode or SKU in Epos Now

A product must have at least one of these for Orion to match it:

  • A valid Barcode

  • A valid SKU

Fix: Add a barcode or SKU in Epos Now → Save → Wait for Orion to re-sync.


2. Barcode/SKU in Epos Doesn’t Match Wix

Linking requires a 1:1 exact match.

Common issues:

  • Extra spaces or formatting differences

  • Different barcodes between systems

  • One system uses SKU, the other doesn’t

Fix: Make sure the SKU or barcode matches exactly in both systems.

? Usual Problem (Very Common):
When copying a SKU or barcode from Epos Now into Wix, it’s extremely easy to accidentally add a trailing whitespace (a space at the end).

"ABC123" and "ABC123 " are treated as completely different values.

? Double-check there are no spaces before or after the value in either system.


3. Duplicate SKU or Barcode on Wix or Epos Now

If multiple Wix items share the same SKU or barcode:

  • Orion cannot safely choose which to link

  • The link is skipped to prevent incorrect matches

Fix: Search your Wix products or Epos Now prodcuts for duplicates → remove or correct them.


4. Product Is Archived in Epos Now

If the product is archived in Epos Now:

  • Orion removes it from your app

  • Linking does not apply to archived products

Fix: Unarchive the product in Epos → Update → Orion will attempt to Resync it.


5. Variant Products With Complex Structures

Some Wix products use multiple variants, options or combinations.

If barcode/SKU is missing at the variant level, the product may not link.

Fix:

  • Add barcodes or SKUs to the individual Wix variants

  • Ensure these match the variant data in Epos Now


How to Check Linking Status in Orion

You can verify linking by opening the product in the:

  • Product Viewer (shows if linked or unlinked)

  • Notifications (shows when a product is linked)

If a product is unlinked, it will display the reason or simply show “Not Linked Yet”.


How to Force a Re-Link

If you update the barcode/SKU in Epos Now, Orion will:

  1. Pick up the update instantly

  2. Re-process the product

  3. Attempt linking again

You do not need to press anything — it happens automatically.

If you want to manually request a full re-sync, you can press:

  • Sync Product (single item)

  • Sync All (all products, not recommended for single product changes)
