Variant Product Price

When an Epos Now product is connected to a variant in Wix we will usually only update the Variant price and not the Base Product Price. 

We have added a setting that allows you to change this default behaviour. We have explained the 4 available options below. 

Option 1 - Don't Change - Default Option

This is the default standard and is exactly how the system currently operates. We will not change the Base wix Product price when adjusting a variant Price. Example;

Scenario 1

1. Your Base Wix Product is £100 GBP

2. Your variant is +£5 GBP making the displayed price £105 GBP

3. You update Epos Now price to the £125 GBP

4. Your Base price on Wix is still £100 GBP

5. Your variant is now +£25 GBP making its displayed price of £125 GBP

Scenario 2

1. Your Base Wix Product is £100 GBP

2. Your variant is +£5 GBP making the displayed price £105 GBP

3. You Lower Epos Now price to the £95 GBP

4. Your Base price on Wix is still £100 GBP

5. Your variant is now -£5 GBP making its displayed price of £95 GBP

Option 2 - Lowest Variant Price

We will set the Base Wix Product Price to be the lowest possible variant price. Examples;

Scenario 1

1. Your Base Wix Product is £100 GBP

2. You have 2 variants one at £100 GBP and one at £110 GBP (£0 and +£10 GBP)

3. You update Variant One Epos Now price to the £125 GBP

4. Your Base price on Wix is now updated to £110 GBP the newest low price of variant 2

5. Your variant one is now +£25 GBP making its displayed price of £125 GBP

6. Variant two is now +0 GBP making it a displayed price of £110 GBP

Option 3 - Highest Variant Price

We will set the Base Wix Product Price to be the highest possible variant price. Examples;

Scenario 1

1. Your Base Wix Product is £110 GBP

2. You have 2 variants one at £100 GBP and one at £110 GBP

3. You update Variant One Epos Now price to the £125 GBP

4. Your Base price on Wix is now updated to £125 GBP the newest high price of variant one

5. Your variant one is now +£0 GBP making its displayed price of £125 GBP

6. Variant two is now -£15 GBP making it a displayed price of £110 GBP

Option 4 - Average Variant Price

We will set the Base Wix Product Price to be the closest 0 decimal average of possible variant prices. Examples;

Scenario 1

1. Your Base Wix Product is £105 GBP

2. You have 2 variants one at £100 GBP and one at £110 GBP

3. You update Variant One Epos Now price to the £125 GBP

4. We will calculate the new average ((125 + 110) / 2) = £117.5. We will round this down to £117. Base price on Wix will now be is now £117.

5. Your variant one is now +£8 GBP making its displayed price of £125 GBP

6. Variant two is now -£17 GBP making it a displayed price of £110 GBP
