Orion is our next-generation integration for connecting Epos Now with your Wix online store.
It replaces the older “Legacy” syncing system and introduces a faster, more reliable, event-driven platform built on modern cloud technology.
Orion is currently in active rollout, and features will continue to evolve as we move all users across from the legacy version.
Why We’re Moving to Orion
The original “Legacy” system was built using Wix Velo code talking to an AWS service. It relied heavily on:
Manual triggers
A daily “sync requested” flag
Scheduled batch jobs
Slower processing and higher risk of delays
It worked for many years, but as stores grew, this approach became harder to scale.
Orion solves these problems by using Google Cloud’s event-driven Pub/Sub architecture.
This means your store updates more quickly, more accurately, and with far less manual intervention.
Legacy vs Orion — What’s the Difference?
Legacy Sync (Original System)
Built entirely on AWS + Wix Velo
Wix Velo triggers handled most of the logic
Used a “sync requested” flag on every product
A scheduler slowly processed each flagged product
Could be delayed when users had large catalogues or lots of uses requesting syncs simultaneously
Depended on user interaction and timing with heavy server loads.
Orion (New System)
Built entirely on Google Cloud (GCP)
Uses Pub/Sub events, automated queues, and orchestrators
Processes products as they change, instead of waiting for scheduled jobs
Faster, cleaner data flow
Less opportunity for delays or missed updates
Scales far better with large product lists
Supports the new Sync All option for a full daily refresh
In simple terms:
? Legacy was manual and batch-based that relied heavily on Wix Velo limitations.
? Orion is real-time and automatic and based purely on the Enterprise level Google Cloud architecture
Where Things Stand Today
Orion is now the platform we are moving all customers to. Currently we are taking on early adopters prior to a complete user migration.
This phased rollout allows us to ensure:
Smooth migrations
Clean product linking
Stable stock and price updates
Backwards-compatible behaviour where needed
Legacy features will be gradually retired as stores transition successfully.
Key Benefits of Moving to Orion
✔ Real-Time Sync
Stock and price changes from Epos Now are processed immediately through event triggers.
✔ More Reliable Updates
Orion handles traffic spikes and large catalogues far better than the old batch system.
✔ Better Error Handling
If an update fails, Orion can retry intelligently without blocking the entire sync.
✔ “Sync All” Button (Daily Full Refresh)
If you want to manually refresh your entire product list once per day, Orion supports this without relying on the old “sync requested” method.
✔ Designed for the Future
Orion allows us to add:
More automation
More granular tracking
Better performance tools
Improved notifications
All without you needing to do anything on your store.
What Stays the Same for Now
While we complete the global move to Orion, your store will still behave in familiar ways:
Your Wix products remain the same
Your Epos Now workflow does not change
You still manage products in Epos Now first
All price/stock edits still originate from Epos Now
The only change is how the data gets to Wix — and Orion does this better.
What Visual Changes Does Orion Have?
We are continually releasing new pages and improvements as Orion evolves.
Right now, you will see several major interface upgrades:
? New Dashboard
A modern home screen giving you a clear overview of your entire integration.
? My Products (with the new Product Viewer)
A redesigned product list and viewer with:
Rich product information
Direct visibility of Epos & Wix data
Faster loading and improved management controls
? My Orders (with the new Order Viewer)
A streamlined order viewer that pulls live order details straight from Wix — giving you more visibility than before.
? Notification Centre
A brand-new real-time notifications panel showing:
What happened
When it happened
Whether it succeeded or failed
This gives you full transparency, allowing quicker troubleshooting and better confidence in your syncing.
Summary: Why Orion Matters
Orion is the foundation for a more stable, scalable and automated syncing system.
It reduces manual steps, reduces delays, and gives your store a much smoother flow of updates.
As we transition all stores from the legacy system to Orion, you will benefit from:
Faster updates
Fewer mismatches
Stronger reliability
Reduced dependence on Wix Velo limitations
How Do I Become an Early Adopter?
Orion is currently in the final stages of the first phase of development before we begin a full rollout to all users. During this phase, we are accepting a limited number of early adopters who want to get access sooner and help us refine the experience.
? What Early Adopters Get
Access to the newest Orion features before general release
Priority onboarding
Direct support during setup and migration
Improved performance and reliability compared to the Legacy system
? Requirements to Join
To ensure a smooth transition, early adopters must meet the following criteria:
Actively using the Epos Now ↔ Wix integration
Have a stable product catalogue (no major rebuilds underway)
Be comfortable with small changes or improvements during the early phase
Willing to report any issues directly to our support team
? How to Apply
Becoming an early adopter is simple — just contact our team:
? Submit a support ticket and mention
“I’d like to apply for early access to Orion.”
Our team will review your account and confirm whether you qualify.

? How We Choose Early Adopters
To ensure the system scales smoothly, we prioritise users who:
Use the platform regularly
Have medium-sized or large catalogues
Receive a steady flow of Wix Store Orders
Rely heavily on the integration
Would benefit immediately from the updated version
⚪ What Happens After Approval
If accepted:
We schedule your migration
Your account is switched to Orion
You receive access to the new Dashboard, Product Viewer, Orders Viewer, and Notifications
The legacy system remains available temporarily for safety where you can switch between the two.
